Trust Manager
Part-time (0.5 FTE)
This is a part-time role with flexible working hours and location.
Our Charitable Trust was established in 2012 to work alongside Te Runanga o Ngāti Tama and the North Taranaki community to restore the environment of Parininihi White Cliffs, build taonga species populations, and enable the reintroduction of kōkako to Taranaki, a goal achieved in 2016.
Pest management operations of the Trust have recently been transferred to Te Ara o Te Ata (as part of the new Mt Messenger project) which has allowed the Trust to focus solely on the survival and the ongoing reintroductions of taonga species.
To ensure the successful operation of the Trust, we are looking for a Manager who enjoys working independently in a values-based organisation, reporting directly to the Trust Chairperson. You will need experience in planning, budgeting and reporting for funders, stakeholders and trustees. This is an exciting time for the Trust and helping determine our priorities and values in the coming years, and shaping this vision with Te Runanga o Ngāti Tama, will be part of your role.
Ongoing coordination with partners and key stakeholders to achieve shared ecological outcomes, as well as planning species reintroductions and species monitoring activities will also be the responsibility of the Manager. You will have oversight of contractors or teams carrying out field work on behalf of the Trust. Ideally you will have experience with species protection and reintroduction, and ecological restoration.
Our Trust has an office in North Taranaki for the Manager to use when convenient and working from home is also possible. On average, the Manager will work 20 hours per week however the times and days of work are flexible to suit the needs of the role and the person.
